This report incorporates material from different disciplines and covers a diversity of approaches to data collection and project reporting drawn from the literature. Whilst the compendium of projects and case studies does not claim to provide an exhaustive list of ongoing activities related to climate change and Indigenous Peoples, it does contain a representative and illustrative survey of current effects and adaptive responses.

The transportation and disposal of hazardous and radioactive wastes can be a project critical activity and needs to be planned well. Consideration should be given to removing radioactive material from a project site as soon as it is ready to be moved instead of combining it’s transportation with other hazardous wastes.

The Pacific region is already having to address loss and damage, where climate change impacts exceed the limits of adaptation. In a 1.5˚C scenario these losses will be greater than today, however with planning and investment it will be possible for many Pacific island societies to adapt to the impacts of climate change in order to minimize these losses and to develop more resilient societies.
It is a 35 paged Evaluation Report on the 7th Pacific Islands Conference on Nature Conservation and Protected Areas event. This evaluation is the result of a questionnaire (Annex 5) handed out at the end of the conference with a 15.3% return rate (47 conference evaluations). his NBSAP 2016 – 2020 was developed with the main purpose to identify the Kiribati Biodiversity priority action plans from 2017 - 2020. It is also a means to meet Kiribati’s obligation under the Convention on Biological Diversity which Kiribati is party to, to achieve the Aichi Targets set by the Convention for parties to work towards until 2020.

Marine protected areas (MPAs) have gained wide acceptance among coastal planners,
managers, researchers, and scientists as an effective tool that can be utilized to protect
threatened marine and coastal ecosystems. MPAs allow depleted breeding stocks of
important food fish and invertebrate species to regenerate and become re-established,
providing a foundation for sustainable fisheries. Typically, the MPA model comprises a core
no-take conservation area, within which harvest of fish and other consumable resources is
