These reports represent an important step in the desire of the Republic of Kiribati to protect the biodiversity and promote the sustainable utilization of the marine and terrestrial resources of Kiribati. The project assists Kiribati in identifying strategies and action plans that are geared towards meeting Kiribati’s obligations under the CBD at both the national and international levels
This Strategy is a five-year framework, a guiding document to support the development and implementation of communication initiatives. These Regulations may be cited as the Domestic Fishing Zone Limit Regulations 2015 and shall come into force on the date of its publication by notice at the Office of the Beretitenti.
The purpose of these regulations are to;
* establish a shark sanctuary in Kiribati water to ensure conservation of sharks
* protect the balance of the marine ecosystem include commercially important fish species and the health of marine habitats such as coral reefs
* help sustain and develop the economy of Kiribati from shark and marine-related ecotourism

MACBIO is a project that supports sustainable economies and livelihoods of Pacific Island Countries by strengthening institutional and individual capacity, to manage and conserve biodiversity in marine and coastal ecosystems. The project was commissioned by BMUB to GIZ as part of IKI, jointly implemented by SPREP, IUCN and GIZ from 2013 to 2018.

An old report on an entomological survey of Christmas Island.
There is an increasing need for sand and gravel for building materials in Tarawa and on other atolls. However, supplies from overseas are expensive. Furthermore, the mining of local beaches contributes to coastal erosion and lacks sufficient quantities for the current and future requirements. An answer to these problems is to source supplies from the lagoon. A purpose-built vessel capable of dredging lagoon aggregates in Tarawa and further afield was available through a European Union grant. This EIA assesses the impacts such would do to the environment.
The objectives of the survey were to:
(1) identify plant species presently causing problems, particularly in natural and semi-natural ecosystems; (2) identify species that, even though they are not presently a major problem, could spread more widely or are known to be problem species elsewhere;
(3) confirm the absence of species that are a problem elsewhere and, if introduced to Kiribati, could be a threat there;
(4) make appropriate recommendations.
This dataset holds two reports
* draft document outlining the operation and progress of a scheme that trialed waste collection in Tarawa which involved the free distribution of green garbage bags for collection by the Tarawa council.
* An assessment of the impact of the South Tarawa Greenbag scheme on the life of the Nanikai landfill.
This base line study was launched to determine the problem on the amount of e-waste that has been generated with some self induced due to lack of quality control at point of entry. The objective of the report is to determine the existing status of electrical and electronic waste in Kiribati in identifying the source, the flow and the quantities of e-waste generated with a view to have a better insight understanding of this in the country.
This Pacific Country/Territory Profile in the solid waste and recycling sector was published in 2018 as part of a compendium of fifteen individual country profiles that seek to identify and quantify the opportunity to improve the resource recovery of fifteen common commodities1 present in the solid waste stream.
The Kiribati Chemical and Waste Management Advice and Banaba Reconnaissance consultancy was undertaken from 15–29 July 2008. The consultancy was necessary due to several hazardous waste management issues identified on Tarawa and Banaba since 2005.
